The political show trial in Stammheim, based on the §§129, 129a and 129b continues. In this trial 5 leftists are accused of membership in an illegal foreign organisation, namely the Marxist-Leninist movement DHKP-C. Bring the political show trial in Stammheim to light!

Away from public there’s recently running a political show trial in Stuttgart-Stammheim, which could have sweeping consequences for migrants organizations and in general for international activity in case of verdicts. In this trial 5 leftists are accused of membership in an illegal foreign organization, concretely the Marxist-Leninist DHKP-C (Revolutionary People’s Liberation Party-Front). This trial has made yet a name for human rights violations, solitary confinement and “juridical” absurdities. Currently, the hearing of the main witness for the prosecution Huseyin Hiram takes place since 28^th of July, 2008. He’s a former double agent of the Turkish and German intelligent services, who, according to a psychological expert is only partially fit to be questioned since he suffers from schizophrenia and he’s got delusions. At present there’s happening a farce in Stammheim, which is hard to beat for absurdity and ridiculousness. So, the witness doesn’t make self-dependent statements but he only answers to apparently suggestive questions of the court. Additionally his present testimonies are often in starkly contradiction with earlier testimonies he made, or the witness states, that he couldn’t remember or he completely revises certain statements.After monitoring the trial sessions up to now, it was obviously that this witness, on whose testimonies the charge is mainly based, is not credibly and that he’s hostile towards the accused.Beyond, the senate can’t claim anymore, that this trial should serve to the establishment of the truth, if the main witness for the prosecution is mentally unstable, strongly medicated and prejudiced, and if his answers are already dictated by the way of questioning through the senate. Apart from the present development, the human rights violations and solitary confinement continue:  The prisoner Mustafa Atalay, who was submitted to a by-pass operation at the rehab clinic of Bad Bevensen, two weeks before his arrest on 15^th November 2006, has been isolated since then. Due to the conditions of arrest, the heart vessels which were opened through the operation are clogged again. Instead of a necessary second operation to clear the vessels, he was only provisionally treated, which is no durable solution.  Three independent experts diagnosed a psychosis at the prisoner Ilhan Demirtas. A doctor commissioned by the court implies Demirtas, that he would just simulate in order to obtain better prison conditions.The three other prisoners, Ahmet Duzgun Yuksel, Hasan Subasi and Devrim Guler are still under solitary confinement, which is knowingly internationally proscribed as torture. We call up to meet the own political and humane responsibility in view of this legal scandal and to a more detailed observation of the trial, especially of the coming trial dates on 15^th, 17^th, 22^nd and 24^th September, if possible to take part in the trial or within one’s means to contribute to bring the Stammheim- trial to light.
